This is a beautiful traditional wood carving is from Kumasi, Ghana and has been hand carved by Ashanti tribesmen. It as been made in Ghana and bought on a fair trade basis. It is carved from Cee Cee wood a locally sourced timber and one that has been used for wood carvings for centuries. Wallhangings such as these depict scenes from rural life. This one is of a woman and child working in the countryside in the shade of a Baobab tree. 

The piece is  33 cms high 16 cms acoss and 3 cms deep
