Thuya burl wood is an exotic wood that exudes a rich aroma due to its high oil content. In fact the ancient Greeks used the oil as an incense for religious purposes. Very beautiful when highly polished it was a prized wood for furniture making in ancient times. It grows in the Atlas mountains but as become rare and logging is strictly controlled by the Moroccan authorities.
